Rotary Clubs Respond to Urgent Ukraine Appeal
Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club’s Water Survival Box charity has been sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine for the past four years – 16 consignments to date. At the end of April an unusual request was received through a Ukrainian mother living near Bath asking if Rotary could help collect suitable clothing for a hospital in south central Ukraine urgently needed to help clothe patients referred from the front-line for treatment. Within just six weeks Rotarian members from all 17 Rotary Clubs in Bath and North East Somerset and west Wiltshire had responded and a total of 57 cartons of assorted clothing with a combined weight of at least 825 kilograms had been delivered to Pensford Post Office where Club President Umang Patel is the PostMaster.
Together with a smaller collection made in Bath the total of more than one tonne of clothing will be delivered to the hospital in Kirovohradska before the end of June.

ROTARY PARTNERS COMBINE TO SAVE LIVES IN UKRAINE -
May 2026 - 800 Water Filters
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine continues to leave displaced families without access to safe drinking water. Rotary Clubs in Arkansas, USA, where many families with Ukrainian heritage live, wanted to help and Rotarian Phil Shupe from the Rotary Club of North Little Rock contacted Rotary’s Water Survival Box charity in Midsomer Norton. Funds raised in America were used to purchase Grifaid Family water filters from the Safe Water Trust and transported overland to the city of Dnipro. The Dnipro area in south Ukraine is close to the ‘front line’ and has been under attack for more than four years. This was the 16th consignment of aid consisting of 800 Grifaid Family Water Filters, each filter is designed to provide a family with 100 litres of safe drinking water every day for up to five years. The filters were distributed by the Rotary Club of Dnipro.

200 Boxes, 100 Grifaid Family Filters 20 Community Filters
Water Survival Box UK is monitoring the rapidly unfolding situation both in Ukraine and in the bordering countries to which refugees are fleeing from the war. We maintain contact with a number of our partner NGOs to determine the need for either Standard Water Survival Boxes or the Multi-pack version. When the need is confirmed we would aim to work with a recognised NGO operating on the ground to ensure our aid did get to families in need. A consignment of 200 WSBs; 100 Grifaid Family Filters and 20 Community Filters were delivered to Borys Bodnar in Lviv. Due to your continued support we have new sent a total of 14 consignments of WSB aid to Ukraine comprising: 1430 WSBs; 2630 Grifaid Family filters; 60 Community filters; a pallet of toothpaste (4,500 tubes); a pallet of toothbrushes (9,000); and a pallet of 670 solar lamps. Thank you for your continued support.

The last consignment, sent in June, also comprising 200 Water Survival Boxes, 100 Family Water Filters and 20 Community Water Filters, had all been distributed by mid-September. Sadly, the bombardment of residential areas by drones and missiles is increasing and leaving even more families in need of our aid.
Thanks to all who have provided the funding, the teams of packers who get the boxes ready for despatch, and those involved in transporting and then distributing the aid to displaced families in need.

Rotary Club Ukraine Unity distribute Water Survival Boxes to internally displaced families from the Velykopysarivska community. This community is located just 7 km from the border with Russia. Due to constant shelling, residents were forced to leave their homes. Now they have found temporary shelter in Okhtyrka. A big thank you to all our supporters for making WSB’s support of the people of Ukraine a reality
