Typhoon Odette hit the Philippines
The Typhoon left hundreds dead and hundreds of thousands of families homeless. Initial reports showed devastation across many areas of the impacted regions, but it is only over the subsequent weeks that the full scale of damage has come to light. Initial assessments only hinted at the scale of destruction – nearly 1.7 million houses damaged or destroyed, massive damage to infrastructure, agricultural land, fishing communities and livelihoods across a vast geographic area of the country. In total, the Typhoon severely affected an estimated 9.9 million people across the six worst hit regions, leaving about 2.4 million people in need of assistance.

This assistance provided the family beneficiaries with access to safe water, hygiene, dignity and shelter supplies addressing the identified needs of the displaced families. Broken down this relates to bringing much needed aid to 853 individuals in the Region/Provinces of ; VI/ Iloilo and Capiz, - CARAGA Region/ Surigao del Norte: - Region VII/ Bohol, - Region 8/ Southern Leyte. Without your generous financial help, none of this would have been possible. Thank you

Grateful recipients express their gratitude “We were so very grateful to receive this disaster aid from Water Survival Box. The box contained everything that you would need in an emergency situation” This now marks the conclusion of this Storyline. Once again thank you for your support. The Upskills Foundation volunteers have now collected the boxes from the holding area and can start the process of redistribution. This much needed aid relief from Water Survival Box will go to those families which have been most affected following the recent typhoons. A spokesmen from the Upskills Foundation said “The generosity they have shown us at this time is most valued, it will help 200 families get through this difficult time.
