Kerala - 500 Boxes Donated
In early August 2018, the state of Kerala was struck by torrential rains. By August 8, 2018, Kerala had experienced a 75% increase in rainfall compared to the seasonal average. By Saturday, August 11, 33 deaths had been recorded, and 60,000 people had lost their homes. The number of disaster victims continued to rise relentlessly until mid-August, with daily reports from the crisis region shocking the media and prompting numerous aid organizations to respond. The damage caused by the floods in Kerala was estimated at $3.7 billion. Among other things, all dams broke, rivers burst their banks, and mudslides swept down from the mountains, engulfing fields and villages – a brown wave of destruction!
