Safe Water for Indonesian Village Community

The following pictures confirm completion of a major sustainable water project in East Java, Indonesia initiated by Rotary charity Water Survival Box Ltd and Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club. Previously the Marmoyo village water supply was intermittent at best and non-existent during the six months dry season. A deep new borehole now gives access to the subterranean aquifers. Members of the local community and Indonesian Rotary Clubs admire the pumping mechanism and pipework taking safe drinking water to the reservoir. In the coming months pipework will link individual houses to the new water supply. Another Rotary project improving the lives of families.

The photos show:   Briefing session for members of the village community,  Local Rotarians and village representatives at the pumping station  and at the Reservoir – with a plaque bearing the names of Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club and the four Indonesian Rotary Clubs that combined on the project.
